Champion Karate has been a leader in martial arts, character development and community outreach since 1995. In fifteen years, Champion Karate, under the leadership of Master Michael Tull, has made a positive impact on hundreds of families throughout Montgomery County.
Champion Karate and sister school Positive Impact Martial Arts in Potomac are the only schools in Montgomery County that offer sport karate training as a part of the regular curriculum. Sport karate keeps students excited about their training by giving them the opportunity to have a "game component" in martial arts. Students are not forced but encouraged to compete to gain greater confidence in themselves. Master Tull himself is a nationally ranked competitor and has trained over 30 national caliber competitors in forms, weapons and sparring competition since 1990. Many of those students used their competitive accomplishments as a springboard in their academic and professional lives.
More than 200 students have been awarded the rank of Black Belt from Master Tull. With a curriculum that focuses on character development and life skills as well as quality martial arts, Champion Karate Black Belts excel in their personal and professional lives as well as on the training mat. Many younger Champion Karate Black Belts find that when applying to college, schools are impressed with the leadership training, mentoring and community service that is required through the Champion Karate curriculum. Master Tull has written countless recommendation letters to help Black Belts get into the school of their choice. Choosing Champion Karate is a wise decision for your child’s future.
With programs that cater to the needs of students, ages 3 and up, Champion Karate is the school that grows with you. There are many teens and young adults at Champion Karate that are currently Black Belts who began training at the ages of 4 and 5 years old. Parents train along side their children in the same classes. In some cases, the kids outrank mom and dad! Some kids are avid sport karate competitors while mom enjoys two or three kickboxing classes a week. Champion Karate offers weapons training, musical forms, demonstration and leadership team for advanced students who may experience a lull in excitement while training for their Black Belt. With a special academic area for children to do their homework and free tutoring offered, school work and karate class can be completed in the same place. That place is CHAMPION KARATE!
Most important, Champion Karate is a family school. Parents waiting on the side lines encourage students on the mat almost as much as the instructors. The atmosphere is warm, friendly and welcoming. When you join Champion Karate, you join a family.
